Don will focus on artistic growth in an informal and friendly atmosphere, spending time with each participant and offering individual guidance and critiques.
Through analysing images from books on Nineteenth and Twentieth Century Art and
Artists, he will show how we all can connect and develop.
He will talk on how marvelously fluid composition is and how we can avoid
rules that impede expression. Composition is orchestration and we all have a sense
of harmony and rhythm.
Don will show how to develop compositions which are in harmony with your
personal sense of expression.
The focus will be on developing a creative process that encourages growth, finding ways to broaden your possibilities of expression through exercises, permitting yourself to play, and involving the viewer!
Each person will work with their favourite medium and subject and will be encouraged to abstract and experiment.
Don will bring his work for discussion and will show how his work has changed over time through studying the modern masters.
Don limits demonstrating his techniques, as this impedes individual expression. He has found it more beneficial to share his methods and approach through discussion.
The workshop is not programmed, permitting all to work at their own pace and each to pursue individual interests.
